Philip S. Khoury specializes in the Middle East's political and social history. As the associate provost at MIT, he has a special responsibility for the arts, international activities, and initiatives between and among schools at MIT. He was dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences for 15 years, during which time “Arts” was added to the name of the School.
