Emily V. Wade, known as Paddy, is a 1945 graduate of MIT who served for almost 30 years on the Corporation and is now a life member emerita. She was also the second woman to serve as president of MIT's Alumni Association. Mrs. Wade served on a variety of committees of the MIT Corporation, including its Executive Committee, the Development Committee, and the Joint Advisory Committee (with students). She was also the Corporation's representative to the MIT Community Service Fund and served for many years as its cochair.

  • Insights into MIT’s response to the antiwar protests of the 1960s.
  • Work on committees to promote environmental awareness.
