This 1967 film depicts the preparation, launch and recovery of the successful flight of the first seven and one-half million pound-thrust Saturn Five vehicle with the Apollo spacecraft. The actual course of the flight is portrayed through animation. Included is color photography from inside the Saturn rings and spectacular views of the earth from an altitude of 11,000 miles. MIT is noted as one of the many research institutes across the country that contributed vitally to these accomplishments. Produced by NASA.
